Two brand new initiatives have come to the Construction industry of Carmarthenshire – the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) New Home Warranty and the new and unique Partnership Alliance between Carmarthenshire County Council LABC and leading local builders merchants, LBS both working to a common goal to ensure that buildings within the county are built better.
Both organisations are committed to smoothing the building regulations process and helping their mutual client base, the builders and contractors, in making their job easier.
Launched at an exciting high profile event on the 28th November at the newly opened conference facility at the Construction Technology and Development Support Centre at Coleg Sir Gar, Ammanford, speakers included Mark James Chief Executive of Carmarthenshire County Council and a well attended funtion by leading builders and contractors within the county.
The New Home Warranty presents a new high quality housing warranty which Carmarthenshire Local Authority can offer alongside their building control function. This provides a competitive and complete solution to New Build, Social Housing and Self Builds needs.
A Partnership Alliance the first of its kind nationwide, LBS Builders Merchants have committed to working with leading manufacturers in supplying the correct materials, of the right specification. In addition LBS are planning to provide a series of on-going workshops offering training, advice and solutions on products and technical applications impacted on by building regulations. The first workshop will take place on Thursday 24th January 2008 at a central location within the county covering Part B Fire Safety, Part E Sound and Part L Insulation.
