BUSINESS ENGAGE WITH VOLUNTARY SECTOR - 18 June 2008
A pioneering event to strengthen links between the business and voluntary sectors took place recently in Carmarthenshire, at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
Carmarthenshire County Council Chief Executive Mark James was the keynote speaker, who said there was a clear need to develop close links with the business community.
LBS Builders Merchants pride themselves on their local roots, and as a local employer, have signed into the ‘Corporate Challenge’ incentive set up by Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services (CAVS), and have initiated ‘Payroll Giving’ within the business.
This Scheme is a way that the Company and LBS staff can support local charities and voluntary groups by donating a small amount of money every month to worthy causes of their choice.
Due to the success of the Scheme within the Company, LBS are to receive a Gold Award from CAVS, in recognition of their commitment and achievement, and on-going support.
Pictured at the Botanic Gardens are members of the Scheme, including our own Amanda Jones, HR Manager, and Philip Evans, Financial Controller.
